Protectors
the trees they are breathing sun air they are breathing
ash salt they are breathing dust light they are breathing
flame flooded limbs frozen
rings hidden hands open
skin broken roots woven
crown stolen seeds swollen
they are breathing they are breathing
breathing breathing breath.

OG Tree
Something forgotten
You are a reminder of silence
Spinning with the stars of secrets
Through the rolling fog drinking the water
Giants with arms that dance
Mossy delicate beards, curled and weathered
Lost with the scent of rain into sun
Vibrations of love making way for new life
The first peoples call you grandma cedar
Ancient elders waiting to tell their tale
A whisper of the old ways
Eyes open, closed and free
A tree that lives so selflessly
Breathe, strength, and honor
A space to wander over thoughts
Seeking unknown freedom
Waiting to be remembered
